Beall to Take The Reins at Windsor Middle School

PRESS RELEASE

Windsor, Calif.—The Windsor Unified School District (WUSD) is pleased to announce that Jillian Beall will be taking over the top job as principal at Windsor Middle School (WMS) for the 2026-27 school year.  Beall’s most recent role is as Director of Educational Services, Student Wellness and Inclusion (TK-12) at Sonoma Valley Unified School District. Current WMS principal Angela West announced her retirement at the end of the current school year.

Beall began her career teaching middle school, primarily 8th grade, for six years, where she taught Algebra, Science, AVID, English Language Arts, English Language Development, and History. She later served as a middle school vice principal for two years and an elementary principal for over four years. She earned both her B.A. in Liberal Studies with a minor in Mathematics and her Master’s in Educational Administration from Sonoma State University, and was recently recognized as ACSA Region 4 Administrator of the Year for Student Services.

“We are so pleased that someone with Jillian’s experience and energy will be stepping in at Windsor Middle School,” said Superintendent Jeremy Decker. “‘WMS is a special place, and we know Jillian is ready to continue moving the school forward.”

“I began my career as a middle school educator and I am thrilled to be returning to a middle school campus setting to serve the students, staff and families of Windsor Middle School,” Beall said. “I have heard of the amazing school culture and community that exists at Windsor Middle and I am honored to have the opportunity to become part of the WMS family.”

“Jillian’s passion for middle school is so clear,” said Director of Human Resources Pete Sullivan. “We are so pleased to welcome her to Windsor Middle School, and the broader Windsor community."

“I have a passion for serving the middle school community, knowing that the middle school years are such an important time for our students and families,” Beall said. “I feel so grateful to become part of a team that prioritizes fostering safe, inclusive, and supportive environments where all students feel a sense of belonging and connection.

Beall won’t just be joining the Windsor community as an administrator, but also a parent. “My husband, Travis, is an English teacher in Sonoma County and we have two children, Lily (14 years old) and Nolan (12 years old). Our family is excited that Lily will also be joining the Windsor Unified School District community next year as a freshman at the high school,” she said.

Beall will move officially into her role on July 1. Windsor Unified School District is excited to welcome Beall to Windsor Middle School and invites everyone to join in giving her a warm welcome.

“I look forward to becoming part of the Windsor Middle School community and taking time to listen, learn, and build meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families so I can best support their continued success,” Beall concluded.
